Niagara Falls Housing Authority Youth Choir
Under the direction of local musician/artist, Diana M. Reeves, the Youth Choir has grown considerably over the years – consisting of 50+ talented children and youth ranging in age from 3 to 16. Instruction for the Youth Choir is held from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at the Doris W. Jones Family Resource Building.
The NFHA Youth Choir has become one of our areas most sought after performers. Recent performances include: Shea’s Performing Arts Center, First Night Buffalo, the Niagara Falls Housing Authority’s Annual Christmas Concert and Thanksgiving Feast, the Niagara Falls City School District’s Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration and Tops Friendly Markets Black History Month celebration.
The Niagara Falls Housing Authority’s Youth Choir provides an invaluable resource for many working parents by providing a safe haven for their children during the critical after-school hours when statistics show children are most at risk for negative behaviors.
Statistics also reveal that children who are enrolled in programs relating to the arts score higher on math and science tests. It is the goal of the Niagara Falls Housing Authority to provide a comprehensive well-rounded educational program.
